Mindful Employer

Over 1 Million people work for organizations who subscribe to the Mindful Employer scheme.

Mindful Employer consultancy

This is a voluntary agreement seeking to support employers in working within the spirit of its positive approach. The Charter is not an accreditation or a set of quality standards nor a policy or target.

Mindsense can provide advice and information to members who want to support individual employees with mental health issues.

Workplace scenarios

A typical scenario where we can help:

Jo sent in a sick note for 8 weeks citing workplace stress, anxiety and depression. You have no idea when Jo is returning to work – or whether she will. Attendance and performance had dropped off and you suspected something was wrong, but what could you do? There might even be a claim against you.

Now your team is understaffed for at least two months and you've got targets to meet.. Stress and anxiety? Tell me about it.

How we can help

If you could recognise the changes in Jo as potential signs of a mental health problem, you would feel confident to talk to her about your concerns, and confident that you could tell her about the help available.

If she had got help earlier Jo might have stayed in work. She would almost certainly have made a quicker recovery.

The team would not be missing a key member and you would be the responsible employer you want to be.

  • Staff Welfare - informed managers provide better staff care
  • Responsible employers – tackling the stigma of mental health problems
  • Health & Safety - Reduce residual risks to staff working with the public.
  • Savings and efficiency – minimise absence due to mental health problems
